The Digital Twin Earth Synthetic Scene Generator and Observation Simulator (DTE-S2GOS) is a pre-operational Digital Twin Earth service designed to generate realistic three-dimensional Earth scenes and simulate their observation by satellite and ground-based instruments. By combining detailed 3D scene representations with advanced 3D radiative transfer modelling, S2GOS provides physically consistent synthetic observations to support instrument development, algorithm validation and scientific applications.

The service to be implemented as a component of the ESA DestinE Platform. This service will involve the development of a radiative twin of the Earth, replicating its appearance as observed from ground-based or spaceborne remote sensing instruments.
